Spring Break and Easter Weekend Fun for the Whole Family

  • Adventure soars at the Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada. If you haven’t been in a while or have never been, there’s no better time to take in Manitoba’s robust aviation history. From one-of-a kind aircraft to meticulously restored bush planes and supersonic jets, the museum is an experience for the entire family.

    Public Programming at the Museum

“When school’s out, think fun!” says events coordinator Amber Fox. “We do offer educational programming for schools, but also offer public programming, which is all about the kids and that includes kids of all ages.”

The Museum’s public programming includes a variety of crafts, games, dress-up stations, giant floor puzzles and even scavenger hunt at various times throughout the year. “We absolutely love seeing our members wander the hangar chasing after little ones or sharing stories about their connections to our aircraft. The flight deck is a perfect spot to put life on hold and be mesmerized by the planes,” says Helen Halliday, President and CEO.

But that’s not all…this Easter why not hop on over and enjoy their prized Easter Egg Hunt. Hundreds of eggs are waiting to be discovered underneath the wings of airplanes, on the pathways of the hangar and even next to flying saucers! And, each participant can make his or her own egg basket. “This year will be extra special as we are hiding special ‘bunnies’ for a few lucky egg hunters. The egg hunt takes place on Saturday, March 31st and Sunday April 1st.
