Exhibit: From the Museum Archives – Aircraft Manuals

  • Image of aircraft manuals from museum library and archives

In our technology-laden world, we often refer to manuals of various types. But what information do aircraft pilots, mechanics and crews gain from these manuals? Our mini-exhibit “From the Museum’s Archives – Aircraft Manuals” showcases a number of aircraft manuals used by pilots and maintenance crews covering a variety of subjects; such as how to eject the Canadair CT-144 Tutor aircraft canopy in case of a wheels-up landing; the bomb placement in the bomb bay of a WW II Avro Lancaster bomber; to the Vickers Viscount Overhaul Manual showing the inside of its rudder and mechanisms.

The exhibit will close on July 30, 2017.
