“Do not ask us where we fly, tell us where you want to go.”

That was the motto of Lambair’s founder Tom Lamb – a man who, together with his six sons created an airline dedicated to serving the people of the North. From an accidental beginning, Lambair grew to operate aircraft of every shape and size – from helicopters to the Bristol Freighter, which had a capacity exceeding five tonnes.

We’ll dedicate the February long weekend to the story of this pioneering aviation family with a family event of our own.

We’ll begin with a guided tour focusing on the Lamb family and the conditions that led to the eventual development and innovative spirit of their aviation contribution.  Following the tour, we’ll host a scavenger hunt where families can experience the plight and peril faced every day by our fearless pilots. During the game, families will track their fuel, gauge how much cargo they can carry and manage through tricky repairs. We’ll finish the event with an activity – creating a take-home craft that will provide a unique memento of a fun family weekend.

The event runs from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The tour and scavenger hunt are included with the price of admission. (Admission is free for 2017 museum members).
