Join the Canadian Aviation Historical Society Manitoba Chapter at the Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada for the next meeting, offered both in person and online.
This month’s featured speaker is Ron Lapp, whose lifelong passion for aviation led to a remarkable career both within Transport Canada and as a freelance aviation writer.
Over 36 years with Transport Canada, Ron combined professional expertise with personal enthusiasm, attending airshows across North America and pursuing unique opportunities to fly in a range of military and civilian aircraft. His experiences include flights with the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, the CF-18 Hornet during Maple Flag exercises, multiple flights in the CT-114 Tutor, and missions aboard both the CC-130 Hercules and CC-115 Buffalo.
In July 2022, Ron was named an Honorary Snowbird, a recognition of his longstanding connection to Canadian military aviation. His presentation will explore how he built his freelance writing career alongside his work at Transport Canada, while sharing highlights from his many memorable flight experiences—including a recent 435 Transport and Rescue Squadron training mission in Winnipeg.
Coffee and doughnuts will be provided for in-person attendees.
This event is open to CAHS members and anyone with an interest in Canadian aviation history.
