Prepare for launch at the Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada during our Spring Break Mini-Astronaut Training Camp—a fun, hands-on space experience designed to spark curiosity and imagination. There’s so much to do!
Moon Rover Roving
Piloting a NASA RC rover, mini astronauts must navigate the rough terrain of the moon’s rugged face.
Space Training Essentials
Mini astronauts will learn about essential astronaut training techniques, such as gravity and weight, communications in space suits, and mapping other planets.
Space Rock Exploration Box
Get your hands dirty! Mini astronauts can sift through a sandbox to search for and identify extraterrestrial rocks.
Mission Patch Design
New astronaut training recruits will draw and colour their own custom mission badge, inspired by other Canadian astronaut’s of the past, to begin your mission to the moon!
DIY Spacecraft Engineering
Mini astronauts can try their hands at engineering by creating their own spacecraft from recycling, and learn about the Artemis II spacecraft’s unique design.
Interactive Satellite Diorama
Mini astronauts can learn about satellite signals by manipulating lasers around the solar system in an effort to reach Earth.
Given the importance of the Artemis missions and their role in returning humans to the Moon and shaping the future of space exploration, this spring break program invites young recruits to step into the role of trainee astronauts. Participants will explore the science, skills, and teamwork that make modern spaceflight possible.

Activities are available throughout the day and led by museum staff.
Museum exhibits are also open and included with admission.
Yes. This is not a drop-off camp.
Parents or guardians must remain with their child during their visit to the museum and while participating in activities.
This ensures a fun, shared experience and a safe environment for everyone.
Yes! You can book on any day between March 28 and April 3.
There is no requirement to attend multiple days — simply choose the day that works best for your family.
Tickets are purchased based on your chosen visit date.
Walk-ins are welcome, but advance booking is recommended.

We recommend:
- Comfortable clothing
- Closed-toe shoes
- A water bottle
All activity materials are provided.
Families typically spend 1.5 to 3 hours participating in activities, depending on pace and interest.
You are welcome to explore the museum before or after completing the training stations.
Some activity stations may have limited capacity at one time.
We recommend visiting earlier in the day for the best experience.
Advance ticket purchase is encouraged, especially during Spring Break.
Walk-ins are of course welcome, subject to capacity.
The Museum has a parking lot located directly beside our building at 2088 Wellington Ave., which normally accommodates visitor parking.
During particularly popular events, additional parking may be required. In these cases, guests may use the nearby WAA Economy parking lot as an alternative.
To access the WAA Economy lot, please stay left on Wellington Avenue and loop around at the 7-Eleven gas station to enter the lot.
