It may sound like science fiction, but this unique King Air has exactly that purpose in this fascinating and sometimes misunderstood field in aviation.
Join us September 18-19 for a unique visiting aircraft featuring a Weather Modification Incorporated Beechcraft King Air! Discover how aviation and atmospheric science come together in one of the industry’s most unique professions, with jobs like cloud seeding and hail suppression. Visitors will have a chance to learn how weather modification works, meet the professionals behind the aircraft, and see the modified aircraft up close.
Weather modification is one of aviation’s lesser-known specialties, which combines aviation, meteorology, engineering, and environmental science into an exciting and impactful career.
ABOUT WEATHER MODIFICATION INTERNATIONAL
Weather Modification International (WMI) is a leader in the field of weather modification and atmospheric science, providing specialized aviation, meteorological, and cloud seeding services throughout North America and around the world. Headquartered in Fargo, North Dakota, the company combines experienced pilots, atmospheric scientists, meteorologists, and specialized modified aircraft in order to work with government agencies, researchers, and industry partners to support weather monitoring, hail suppression, precipitation enhancement, and environmental research.
Their fleet of purpose-built aircraft and advanced meteorological technology play and important role in collecting atmospheric data and carrying out carefully planned weather modification missions, helping communities better understand and respond to weather-related challenges.
All visiting aircraft are displayed outdoors and are weather-dependent. Visiting aircraft schedules can change based on weather, mechanical issues, or at pilot discretion. We apologize but tickets are non-refundable, but may be used at a different date for up to 1 year from purchase.

We highly recommend pre-purchasing tickets to ensure access, as tickets can sell out quickly and lines can get long at our ticketing desks. Please have your pre-purchased tickets ready to be scanned upon arrival on the day of your visit for quick access.
The Museum offers visitor parking in the lot adjacent to our building at 2088 Wellington Ave.
During particularly popular events, our parking lot may reach capacity. When this occurs, guests are welcome to use the nearby Winnipeg Airports Authority (WAA) Economy parking lot.
To access the WAA Economy lot, stay left on Wellington Avenue and continue past the 7-Eleven, where you can loop around and follow to the left to enter the WAA lot.
Please note that WAA parking rates apply.
Visiting aircraft appearances are subject to factors beyond the Museum’s control, including weather, mechanical issues, operational requirements and Royal Canadian Air Force discretion. While we understand this can be disappointing, however the Museum has already committed significant resources to hosting the event, including staffing, event planning, marketing, logistics and site preparation, regardless of whether the aircraft is ultimately able to attend. For that reason, tickets are non-refundable.
Since these tickets are general admissions, they are valid for a visit to the museum for up until 1 year past the date of purchase. You can hold onto your tickets and redeem them at a later date!
