From iconic warbirds to modern-day aerial workhorses, there’s something for every aviation fan to discover—only at the Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada!
July 25–28: P-51 Mustang IV
We begin our summer flight schedule with the return of Hannu Halminen’s P-51 Mustang IV, visiting July 25–28. This legendary long-range fighter played a pivotal role in Allied success during the Second World War and flew in service with several Royal Canadian Air Force squadrons—including Winnipeg’s own 402 Squadron.
Now privately owned and meticulously restored, this Mustang offers a rare chance to see one of aviation history’s most iconic aircraft up close. The visit pays tribute to the pilots, squadrons, and sacrifices behind Canada’s wartime aviation legacy. Arrival and departure are weather-dependent; please check our website or social media for confirmed timing closer to the expected arrival.

July 25th Arrival
The P-51 Mustang touched down at our museum July 25th at 1 PM.
IMPORTANT UPDATE: Mustang Display Status
Due to mechanical issues and weather related issues the P-51 Mustang was only available for display July 25th. We will try and secure a future date.
We appreciate your understanding—as always, there is a certain amount of unpredictability that comes with keeping history flying.
August 9–10: Air Tractor AT-802 and AT-504
From August 9–10, the museum welcomes two powerful aircraft from Western Canadian Aerial Limited: the Air Tractor AT-802 and the two-seat AT-504. These rugged aircraft are vital tools in agricultural spraying and forestry management across the Prairies and beyond.
The AT-802, with its 800-gallon hopper, is one of the most widely used single-engine forestry and ag aircraft in the world. The AT-504, equipped with a 500-gallon capacity and a tandem cockpit, is ideal for both spraying and training new pilots. With the help of GPS and aerial mapping software, these aircraft offer pinpoint precision in the field. Don’t miss this special appearance on our Dr. D.S. Reimer Aviation Plaza.
August 17: WPS Air 1 Helicopter
Rounding out our lineup, the museum is proud to host Air 1, the Airbus H120 helicopter flown by the Winnipeg Police Service Flight Operations Unit. This modern, multi-role helicopter has supported public safety in Winnipeg since 2011—assisting with emergency response, surveillance, and search-and-rescue missions across the city.
From 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, visitors will have a unique opportunity to meet members of the flight team and learn about this critical law enforcement tool.
